The Community area is where you will interact with other OSCA members. Within the Community, you will be able to message other members, join groups, make connections and create or subscribe to blogs and forums. To access the Community, log in and select Manage Profile.
The OSCA website has its own online messaging system. You can send and receive messages to/from other OSCA members and Groups you are a member of. You can edit your Messaging settings in Preferences. You can also access Messages from the quick links on the right side of the page.
To view your inbox, select Manage Profile from the right navigation menu and then select Messaging or simply select Messages from the right navigation menu.
Your inbox will show all received and sent messages and will allow you to send messages to your connections or other members. Click on the hyperlinks (Your Inbox, Sent Messages, Message a Member, Message a Connection) to open your inbox or send a message.
To make sure you know when messages are sent to you, set your Preferences to email you when a new message arrives in Your Inbox.
If you are a member of a OSCA District, Committee, or the Board of Directors, you're a member of a Group. You will have access to the Group Member Directory, files, photos, calendars, Group Forum, Blogs and other features within each Group.
To view your Groups, select Manage Profile from the right navigation menu and then select Groups or simply select Groups from the right navigation menu.
You may set a number of Preferences regarding your Group settings. You can select to receive updates when events are added, a new member joins and more. You may also opt to receive the Group Digest - the group newsletter.
– Click on this icon to send a Message to all group members, subscribe to the Group Newsletter or leave the group.
– Click on this icon to view the Group's Directory, Calendar, Blogs or Photo Gallery.
Connections are similar to LinkedIn where you can create a circle of OSCA members that you would like to network with. To edit your Connections, select Manage Profile from the right navigation menu and then select Connections or simply select Connections from the right navigation menu.
OSCA Forums are a communication tool where you can ask industry related questions and share information. Forum discussions are archived and therefore a great resource to check when seeking information.
If you are a member of a Group, you may be interested in participating in a Group Blog. You can manage your Blog preferences in this section, but you first must subscribe to the Blog within the Group.
