School Bus Driver Physical – In order to have the ability for DCs to perform these physicals, we need to change the law, not the rule. However, we need to insure the Department of Education (DOE) is well informed why we are approaching the legislature to change this law. Therefore, we will be meeting with the DOE to brief them on this issue.
Scope Consistency – The OSCA continues to meet and talk with the Lt. Governor’s office who is working to make our administration code consistent with what we have with BWC. Our push has lead the LT. Governor’s office to begin speaking with the Department of Medicaid to make our code consistent with BWC.
Worker’s Compensation – In February 2016 the OSCA introduced the Chronic Care Supplemental Form to BWC’s leadership team. The OSCA believes this form has given rise to BWC calling for a Chronic Care Summit meeting that will involve the MCOs and BWC; with the bureau asking the OSCA to take part in these discussions. This meeting is set to take place this month.
GXMO – Last month the OSCA met with the Department of Health (DOH) about concerns with the GXMO certification and its curriculum. After meeting with them it led to the DOH extending an invitation to the OSCA to appoint a DC to the GXMO committee. The committee is responsible for reviewing and revising the curriculum and exam questions for the GXMO certification.
