Sub. HB 276 (Chiro-Nutrition) Due to the legislature starting their summer break there will be no committee activity on Sub. HB 276. However, the OSCA and NOAC will be working together over the next several months educating the leaders of the senate’s State and Local Government Committee on the importance of this bill.
Scope of Practice/Administrative Code: After the OSCA met several times with the Lt. Governor’s office regarding the scope of practice inconsistencies throughout the administrative code, they have decided to start looking into our inquiries. The Lt. Governor’s office is starting their conversations first with the Ohio Department of Medicaid and Ohio Department of Education.
School Bus Driver Physicals: The OSCA will be meeting with the Department of Education as well as legislative leaders regarding the issue of Chiropractic Physician’s being included as one of the healthcare providers who can perform school bus driver physicals.
GXMO/Ohio Department of Health: The OSCA will be meeting in the next couple of weeks with the Department of Health regarding OSCA member issues with the GXMO tests. If there are any members who have concerns regarding the testing requirements for GXMO please contact Nicholas Strata at firstname.lastname@example.org so he can share them with the Department of Health.
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration: The OSCA is aware of the FMCSA’s recent decision to not allow New York Doctors of Chiropractic perform truck driver physicals. We are currently monitoring the situation at the state level and will alert members if any potential changes to Ohio will be occurring in the future.
