OSCA District 7 Legislative Banquet – District Director Dr. Tony Rump and members of the OSCA District 7 will be hosting Representatives’ Burkley and Cupp as well as Senator Hite on April 11th in Lima, Ohio at the City Club. The event starts at 6:00 pm. Any questions please feel free to contact Nicholas Strata at firstname.lastname@example.org.
House Bill 276 – Representative Schuring has drafted a substitute bill from the original version of HB 276. The OSCA is happy with the changes and the Ohio State Medical Association has officially signed off on the bill; allowing the bill to move forward. It is expected that on April 13th Chairwoman Anne Gonzales will ask the House Health and Aging Committee to accept the Sub. Bill 276. The following week, should there be no opposition, the committee plans to vote the bill out and send it to the floor of the House of Representatives for a vote.
House Bill 169 (PT Scope of Practice) – The OSCA continues to work with the bill’s sponsor on language compromises. The OSCA and other healthcare associations continue to oppose the bill that calls for PT’s to have direct access to patients. Until these compromises are worked out it seems to be clear the bill will not be moving. No New Update
