Rep. Kunze Visits District 9 – Representative Stephanie Kunze (Hilliard, OH), who is running for the Senate, spoke with OSCA District 9 doctors last week. She addressed House Bill 276; a bill that would clarify a chiropractor’s ability to provide nutritional advice in addition to having long dialogue on the subject of opiates. She was particularly impressed with the OSCA’s success to include non-pharmacological procedures into the Governor’s Opiate Action Taskforce guidelines and recommendations.
House Bill 276 – Representative Schuring is drafting a sub-bill to include new amendments and language that address OSCA and OSMA issues. We are hoping to have a draft back by the end of the month to share with the OSCA Government Affairs Committee.
House Bill 169 (PT Scope of Practice) – The OSCA continues to work with the bill’s sponsor on language compromises. The OSCA and other healthcare associations continue to oppose the bill that calls for PT’s to have direct access to patients. Until these compromises are worked out it seems to be clear the bill will not be moving.
