Posture Assessment, Therapy and Exercise
Positioning DCs as the Posture Specialist with Step-by-Step
StrongPosture® Rehab Protocols

Dr. Steven Weiniger

 Sponsored by:

From “Sitting is the new smoking” to “text-neck”, posture is a growing concern in our slumping society- and DCs can be the Posture Specialist for pain management, performance, wellness and active aging. First step is building posture consciousness with a digital photo. Next, posture focused therapy begins with reducing restrictions to movement with spinal manipulation (and possibly fascial and muscle work). As pain improves, the StrongPosture® exercises teach people to retrain neglected motion patterns towards symmetry. Focusing on posture control with Balance-Alignment-Motion (BAM) rehab protocols helps people help themselves with low-tech tools (eg balls, bands, foam pads, etc). By engaging people to retrain muscle and joint awareness, with improvement they become more posture aware of the importance of unlocking motion restrictions with spinal manipulation and StrongPosture® to move, feel and be well.

Chiropractic Nutrition: Core Principals for Every Patient
Dr. Jay Robbins

Let’s face it, to be successful in practice your treatment has to work!  How many times have you delivered the perfect adjustment, just to find those same subluxation patterns come back over and over again?  In school we were taught all about the importance of the viscero-somatic reflex, but not really how to address it.

During this seminar you will learn a systematic and objective approach to viscero-somatic reflex subluxations and how to identify key organ system nutritional deficiencies.

Chiropractic care accompanied by the appropriate nutritional support allows us to accomplish great things!  During this seminar you will learn how to quickly and easily implement effective nutritional therapy in even the busiest of practices.

An Introduction to Post Surgical Spine Rehab

Speakers:
Dr. Anthony Gross

Dr. Jerrold Simon

  Sponsored by:

An Introduction to Post Surgical Spine Rehab is a 2 hour presentation that will introduce the attendee to the concepts behind rehabilitating a patient who has recently undergone minimally invasive spinal surgery.  This lecture covers the essentials of the much broader 12 hour seminar on Post Surgical Spine Rehab (PSSR) co-sponsored by the American Chiropractic Association and the Laser Spine Institute that Drs. Simon, Petruska and Gross are presenting at Laser Spine Institute Centers in various cities all over the country including Tampa, Scottsdale, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Oklahoma City, Cincinnati and St. Louis.

This introduction will explore the historical evolution of spinal surgical procedures from open back surgeries to minimally invasive spinal surgery (MISS) procedures such as the foraminotomy, laminotomy and endoscopic discectomy to minimally invasive stabilization (MIS) procedures such as the PLIF (posterior lumbar interbody fusion) and the ACDF (anterior cervical discectomy fusion).  The indications and contraindications for the above surgical procedures will also be discussed.  Additionally, before post surgical rehab is commenced, the determination of medical clearance protocols will be delineated and medical clearance forms will be explained.

Finally, functional exam procedures will be summarily outlined to determine the functional status of the post operative patient which will then largely determine what type of rehabilitative procedure is most appropriate for the patient. Common post surgical rehab protocols will be presented and briefly demonstrated.
