Everyone is aware of the impending implementation of ICD-10. It is slated to begin on October 1st of this year. Over the last two years the OSCA did a series of live seminars across the state to help our members better prepare for this implementation. Although those events were well attended, we feel we can do a better job of equipping you and your team for this new system.
We have decided to do a six part webinar series that will walk you thought not only the overall idea of ICD-10 but a step by step implementation model with conversion tables and additional written aids. You will receive everything you need from us and it is included in your OSCA dues. We have contracted with Certified Professional Coder, Bobbie D’Amato. She is an expert in ICD-10 and a wife of an Ohio Chiropractor. She has been helping chiropractors for years with their coding needs. We are blessed to have her on our team.
We will be recording these webinars so people can watch and re-watch as needed. There is no need for you to spend money to learn this information; as an OSCA member you will get everything you need.
Bobbie D’Amato, CPC has over 25 years of vast experience in coding, billing, accounts receivable management, Director of Quality Assurance for physician billing services, Practice Administrator and Credentialing Consultant. She is an experienced trainer, mentor, and a past Medical Coding and Billing instructor for a career and technical center, who continues to serve on the Advisory Board. A Certified Electronic Practice Management Implementation Specialist software trainer, and is President of Credentialing Practitioners, LLC.
Her husband and daughter are both Chiropractors, this was how it all began. She has a strong passion for sharing knowledge, training, consulting, and resolving situations in the chiropractic office. Bobbie's presentations and experience has led to the ICD-10-CM OSCA webinar series specifically developed for the chiropractic practice. You will gain insight as to the why and how of ICD-10-CM, understand software requirements, dual systems, and are you 5010 compliant? How about the new coding guidelines; laterality and higher level of specificity? There are five times as many ICD-10 codes than ICD-9 codes, from 13,000 to 68,000 ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes. You will be shown the mapping of diagnosis codes, and OSCA members will receive a "cheat sheet” to get started with the new coding conventions! These webinars will ensure your practice has gained knowledge, have the tools, and can locate resources for this highly anticipated October 1 transition. This OSCA series is designed for the entire staff to attend!
