While acute stress produces a physiological response that helps one endure transient challenges and promotes resiliency, chronic stress is debilitating. We do a review of biology and the Hypothalamus Pituitary Axis to explain the "science of stress." A prolonged acute stress response may evolve into an inadequate stress response, and identifiable behaviors and clinical systems are explained. As chiropractors we see the effects of stress on a daily basis. Learn about another "tool in the tool box" to effectively treat stress. Allostasis will be reviewed and strategies for office treatment will be given.
